About Vampire Facial

Vampire Facial is the term used when we incorporate the use of the patient’s own Liquid Gold with micro-needling,

Vampire facials have been effective in treating a variety of skin concerns, from general ageing and preventative ageing to acne scars and uneven skin tone.

Micro – needling encourages skin resurfacing and cell turn-over, while the Liquid Gold stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin.

The result is a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, minimising the appearance of scaring, improving skin turgor and evening the overall tone and texture of the skin.

Additionally, Liquid Gold injections can be used to treat the following: Lines around the mouth, under eye bags, dark circles and crepey skin and hair loss injections.

The Process:

Sound serious? Well, it sort of is – since the treatment begins with a blood draw. But, contrary to popular belief, it’s relatively painless — aside from the first needle pinch. What’s more? True downtime is only two days.

Upon arrival, a topical numbing cream is applied to ensure the procedure is comfortable. We then take a small amount of blood (usually from the patient’s arm, like a normal blood test). This blood is then spun down in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the plasma. Plasma is the yellowish component of the blood, which is rich in the platelets required for the treatment.

Once the patient is numb, we fully cleanse the face and apply a serum to enable slip of the micro-needling device. Then while we are performing the micro-needling, we are infusing the plasma into the tissue. The tiny micro-needles essentially push the plasma into the layers of the skin.

Depending on the patient’s individual requirements, we may also take the procedure one step further and inject the plasma directly into the skin around the eyes or mouth (areas of the face that tend to age more quickly). This helps to significantly thicken and tighten the skin in those areas.

Preparation

When you sign up for the treatment, our Aesthetic Health Care Professional will explain how the procedure works. Know that the Vampire facial includes microneedling combined with the Liquid Gold serum. In addition to running the needling all over your skin, your medical professional will also place the serum at short intervals on your skin. The effects of the microneedling are enhanced by the serum that enters the pores. Here, it works to rejuvenate the layer of collagen and elastin to give you younger looking skin.

In case you’re wondering what to expect after microneedling, know that your skin will look a bit bloody along with some amount of redness. You can also expect to feel tingling, numbness from the topical numbing, and tenderness. To help you with the slight discomfort, the medical professional will apply ice packs that also lower the swelling.

Vampire Facial Recovery

By following the recommendations of our medical professional about the aftercare for Vampire facial, you should be able to see positive results starting at one week. For the first 24 hours or so, you can expect to see redness and bruising. The skin may also seem raw. By the second day, the redness may settle a little and start to appear like a sunburn. But, you can expect more swelling. This is a sign that the treatment is working as expected.

In the next 3 to 5 days, the swelling will start to calm down. You’ll only notice pinkish skin that light makeup can easily cover. For a week or so, you may feel like your skin is warmer than usual and firmer to touch. After this interval, you can expect that the after effects settle and you’ll start to see positive results. Your skin will take on a smooth, wrinkle-free appearance. You’ll also note a rejuvenated glow even as the pigmentation, dark circles, and scars and marks start to fade.

Following the Aftercare for Vampire Facial Ensures Effective Results

Most users continue to see improvement for 6 months or more. And, the effects of the treatment can last for 10 to 12 months if you follow the aftercare for Vampire facial carefully. Of course, this interval also depends on your body’s healing capabilities and how it responds to the procedure.

Downtime / Aftercare

Once you’re ready to go home, our medical professional will explain the aftercare for Vampire facial so you get the best results from the treatment. Here are some of them:

  • Do not touch your skin for at least 6 hours. Allow the serum to remain on your skin so it can continue to work.
  • You can rinse your face the next morning with water, but avoid using any cleansers that can cause harm.
  • Wash your hands with soap before touching the skin.
  • Gently pat dry taking special care not to rub the skin. You may sense that the skin is firmer than usual. But, over the next few days up to 2 weeks, it will soften and regain a supple, smooth feel.
  • While the discomfort should settle within 24 hours, if you continue to feel pain, take pain killers. Do not take anti-inflammatory or any other medications without checking with your medical professional.
  • Use an ice pack to calm the swelling, but place a thin cloth between the pack and your skin. Avoid direct contact and time the applications at 5-minute intervals.
  • For the next 2 days, sleep on your back with your head elevated. In this way, you can lower the swelling and bruising.
  • As part of the aftercare for Vampire facial, do not use any exfoliating or any other harsh agents on your skin for at least 72 hours. But, you can use a non-chemical, organic moisturizer that is gentle. If your aesthetic health care professional recommends it, you can use hyaluronic acid to moisturize and nourish your skin.
The Don’ts of Aftercare for Vampire Facial at least 72 hours after your Vampire Facial:
  • Do not apply any kind of makeup. When you do apply any skin products, remember to wash the brushes carefully to remove any possible infection-causing pathogens.
  • Stay out of the sun and add applications of a broad spectrum UVA/UVB, SPF 25 or greater sunscreen to your skincare routine.
  • Avoid going swimming. Or, any other activity that can cause sweating like a strenuous workout in a gym or yoga classes. Remember, your skin is tender and needs protection as part of the aftercare for Vampire facial.
  • Avoid tanning beds, steam or sauna rooms, jacuzzis, hot showers, or any other activity that involves heating the skin.
  • Avoid any kind of skincare products that can cause damage or peeling. Facials, face massages, and laser treatments are also a definite no-no.
  • Do not take alcohol or blood thinners for at least 6 hours.
FAQs

FAQs

01.Does the Liquid Gold Procedure Hurt?

Good news— the Liquid Gold procedure is virtually painless. Most patients report only feeling an initial needle pinch. Sometimes patients may experience mild pain after the numbing cream has been applied, but the tenderness is usually confined to more sensitive areas like the mouth. It’s important to remember that pain tolerance varies from person to person, and vampire facials may be more uncomfortable for some patients.

02.Do Vampire Facials Have Side Effects?

Vampire facials may come with side effects, but nothing too significant. Since the Liquid Gold treatment is made of the patient’s own blood, there’s little chance for an allergic reaction. Some patients report minor side effects like bruising, swelling, or itching. Usually, these symptoms go away on their own relatively quickly. Make sure to let your medical professional know about any pre-existing conditions you may have that could be agitated by the procedure. Our staff at My Botique is always ready to address your concerns.

03.When Will I See Results?

After a vampire facial, you may start seeing results right away. In most cases, patients notice the most improvement up to three weeks after the Liquid Gold treatment. Others may wait up to six months to see the full results of the vampire facial. However, it’s important to remember that although these results can be long-lasting, they aren’t permanent. Many patients elect to schedule multiple treatments to achieve the best outcome.

04.Who is the Ideal Candidate for a Vampire Facial?

Almost anyone can be a candidate for a vampire facial. Liquid Gold facials are especially helpful for people with wrinkles, fine lines, and acne scars. They are also effective for those with sun-damaged skin. Most people who are unhappy with imperfections on their facial skin can safely undergo the procedure. However, those with blood disorders or who need blood thinners should refrain from Liquid Gold treatment. Always let your medical professional know about your health history before deciding on a vampire facial.

05.How Much Does the Vampire Facial Cost?

At My Botique we charge $450 to our Vampire Facial treatment.
